If you hold a retirement visa in Thailand and have a valid re-entry permit, you do not need to present an onward or return flight ticket upon re-entry. As long as you return within the validity of your extension and re-entry permit, you should be fine. All you need is to show your re-entry permit and the extension stamp in your passport.
