TLDR : Answer Summary
In Thailand, children below the age of 15 do not incur overstay fines. Those aged 15 to 17 are subject to a daily fine of 500 Baht, with a maximum penalty of 20,000 Baht; however, they are not blacklisted for overstays. Once individuals turn 18, standard penalties apply, including potential blacklisting.

When I did an extention of my 14yr old daughters non exempt visa - in Chiang Mai, I had to pay a few day overstay fees.

I did not keep a picture of the stamp, because less and less such cases.

15 years. Below 15 years they are free. Between 15 and 18 years they will pay overstay but no blacklist. Over 18 years both will be enforced.

Did some search and can not find the official rule, but read many times 15, so I guess you are right. I will change my comment.

Yes, the law says "not over 14" and the usual interpretation is that till 14 years 11 months and 29 days they are not fined.

16? Sure? I thought 15.

Children till the age of 15 do not pay overstay, from age 15 to age 18 pay overstay 500 Thb a day, max 20.000 Thb but no blacklist. 18 Year and older have both depending on days of overstay.
