If you go and pay an overstay fine at an immigration center of less than 90 days, are you able to leave by a land border and apply for a visa and re-enter?

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you have overstayed your visa by less than 90 days, you can pay the overstay fine at an immigration office and choose to leave the country by a land border the same day. Paying the fine allows for a smooth exit and does not typically affect your ability to apply for a new visa. Alternatively, you can pay the fine and purchase a 7-day extension for an additional fee, allowing you to stay longer before leaving. Overall, getting a new visa at a consulate after resolving an overstay is generally uncomplicated.

will do for sure, I plan to pay the fine, travel to Savanakhet by bus get a non o and be a good boy, hopefully with no more issues :), thanks for the response.
then be ready to "run for the border" the second you get done paying your overstay because unless you get the 7 days to get outta thailand stamp for 1900baht after you pay the fine, you need to leave the country that day.

Going to the office has to be safer when travelling through Thailand, especially due to many road blocks near borders

How many days is your overstay? Less than 90 I understand but this is still from 1 day till 89 days.

well it was nice to find out that its a better option to go to the office if im prepared to pay an extra 1900 bht, a relief in fact
i dont want an extention as such, but i have herd its better to pay at an immigration center before hand to avoid the risk of travelling without a valid visa, and ther are desks for that in the immmigration centers

Scott Williams No, you will NOT get any Extension if you just pay fines.
I’ve always been told not to go to Immigration for an overstay problem there’s a very good chance you’ll be deported and stamped not to return for a period of time just pay at the border or better at the airport

Ur visa is expired mate. Immigration only do extensions of stay. If you go to immigration I guarantee you will get arrested or have to pay a back hander for them to get you a visa which will be more than paying the fine at a air or land boarder. Trust me.
If its under 90days pay at the boarder you will have no problems. Do not go to immigration centre they will not be able to give you a visa so will be deported no ban but a load of hasle.
