Can you do 90-day reporting online with a new passport issued in Thailand?

I have been told that getting a new passport while inside Thailand means that you can no longer do 90 day reporting online. You will need to leave and re-enter the country to activate the new passport in the Immigration online database, anyone have any experience otherwise. ??

You are not the only person who has gotten a new passport DONE 90 day reports in person on it yet can't get the 90 day online system to work.

It is the fact that while they keyed in your new passport number when you did a 90 day report with it they didn't CHANGE the data base to reflect it and that means when you put in the passport number it won't match.

Well, I am the only one to my knowledge, until I ask about it and get a reply here. My question was can they change the central database at local immigration, or do i have to exit and enter the country again.

I am fully aware of the procedure to change and update to a new passport as I completed this almost a year ago. I have already done three 90 day reports, and one yearly extension on this new passport. I am still unable to do a 90 day online, it does not even let me past the first page. My question is has anyone managed to do a 90 day report online on a new passport issued inside the country without leaving the country !.

Immigration is using a database, part of this get updates on leaving and entry of Thailand. Other part is the address that you are registered at, if you get a new passport, the Immigration Officer has to change your passport number by hand into that database. If he did not do this you can not make an online report as your old passport is still registered. Visit the Immigration Office, go to the desk for 90 days reporting, explain you have a new passport and want them to update this new passport number into their system so you are able to use the on-line method again.

I'm not sure what you mean about address registration, I have been at the same address for the last 14 years and my TM30 is valid. When they give me my 90 day slip the reference number under the barcode on the top right also contains my old passport number.

Leaving the country and coming bank in Thailand does not upgrade the database for the part of address registration. I would say visit Immigration Office and ask them to update this address registration with your new passport so you can do this 90 day report on-line.

As soon as you get your new passport, you also get a letter from the Embassy. Take old and new passport and the letter from the Embassy to the Immigration Office to transfer your Extension of Stay and update the address registration database, so you can do your next 90 days report with your new passport. documents needed to change stamps to new passport:
