Hello. I asked this question earlier but it got deleted for unknown reason. I am a U.S citizen. I am planning to teach English in Thailand with my wife who is from the Philippines. I read in different sources that Filipino are allowed to visit Thailand only for 30 days without paying for a visa. But i wish to stay with her in Thailand for a year. Please i want to know if it would be possible for her to get a visa and stay with me? I need your advice please.

I deleted the post because I thought it was a troll post, sorry..

People from over 40 countries (the USA and the Philippines included) get into the country on what's called a 30 day visa exempt entry.

Your best bet would be for the two of you to get 6 month METV's <- multi-entry tourist visas from the thai consulate where you are BEFORE you wing your way here. That will give you time enough to find a job, get the correct visa, work permit and then get your wife a visa to be with you here based on being married to someone who legally works here..

thanks again. I will just go there for 30 days and look for a job. I was surprised when the recruiter told me that she doesnt think they can issue her a visa.

yeah she's NOT gonna be able to go to lao cross over and come back over and over. :/ She (and you too) can make TWO 30 day visa exempt entries by land in a calendar year :O That's it.

That the school doesn't know what paperwork to give you so that your wife can get a Non-O visa based on you getting a Non-B visa raises flags for me.

Fly over for the interview, you both can get in on 30 day visa exempt entries, come here and get the interview.

I already have a school who wants to hire me. They told me that they have no clue about issuing her a visa. They also told me i can travel to Laos with her and come back get 30 days and do that over and over. I already know that this school would hire me. I just want to go for the face to face interview
