Rassaya Bebii from uk you need valid UK visa and it takes a while. Yes to get a tourist visa in Thailand embassy that is a requirement.

Depends on what passport he has. Malaysia has lots of visa on arrival. Stop in Malaysia and go the next day to thai embassy after lunch you will have a visa. This was all before covid. Now its a lot more complicated.
