I am an Indian national, married to Thai wife. I entered Thailand through Bangkok airport immigrations on 60 days visa free entry. I am living in a village called Pasang, in Phayao District. My wife just called the Phayao Immigrations office to check about the additional 30 days extention, as we just had a baby girl 4 days ago. The immigration office straightaway refused. They say 30 days extension not available for Indian nationals, and that I should exit and re-enter to get another 60 days visa free entry. Is there any Indian national here who has received the 30 days extension..? The process is so confusing. Each immigration location tells a different story. Seems there are different rules for different nationalities. Wonder if they have a uniform process, or it works on their wimms & fancies..!!
TLDR : Answer Summary
An Indian national married to a Thai citizen is seeking advice on obtaining a 30-day extension on their visa exempt entry in Thailand. Despite receiving conflicting information from different immigration offices, several commenters share their experiences and suggest that Indian nationals can get a 30-day extension under certain circumstances. Some recommend visiting immigration offices directly, while others suggest exiting the country to re-enter for a new visa period. Overall, it appears that experiences vary and rules might differ by location.
