Currently I am in Thailand with NON B visa that was issued by my previous work place but now i am no longer in that company. Recently i applied for another job so they are saying me to go back to my country get TR visa from there and come back so that they can change it here in Thailand to be NON B. Is it possible to do that ?
I am from Nepal.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently in Thailand on a NON B visa linked to a previous employer. They wish to switch jobs but are informed by their new employer that they must return to Nepal to obtain a new TR visa, which can then be converted to a NON B visa in Thailand. The community provides insights about the impossibility of transferring the visa directly due to the employer-specific nature of the current visa and suggests that obtaining the necessary documents, like the WP3, from the new employer is crucial to apply for the visa from their home country.
Take out the personal data and post a picture of the passport page with his last Admitted to stay period, visa or Extension of Stay. There is no way we can give advice by guessing.
my son was working for a school...went to KL and took his paperwork he has until November 5 I believe... however he is no longer with the school but they have not done anything on their end to cancel anything...he may want to leave the country before November 5 ..was thinking about cancelling it himself but not sure how much time he would have if he cancelled it so he could leave

NO, a Work Permit has NOTHING to do with your stay inside Thailand. What kind of VISA or Extension of Stay do you have inside your passport?
if I cancel the work permit..do I only have 24 hrs to leave the country?

a Work Permit let you work inside of Thailand, you cancel this at the Ministry of Labor. a Work Permit does not allow you to be inside Thailand that is or a Visa from a Thai Consulate or Embassy or the Extension of Stay from Immigration Offices. Which one do you have inside your passport?
If you quit or get fired from your job, your Work Permit must be cancelled at the Ministry of Labor. If you stay on a Visa and do border runs evey 90 days this visa stay valid. If the name of your employer is written on the Visa you can not use this visa to work with a new employer. If you stay inside Thailand on an Extension of Stay based on working you got from Immigration Office and do 90 days reports at Immigration this has to be cancelled on the last day of working and can not be transferred to new employer.
