Right after that, I’m applying for a re-entry permit.
Can I leave as long as 6 months?

TLDR : Answer Summary
You can leave Thailand for up to 6 months after renewing your marriage visa and obtaining a re-entry permit, as long as you return before your extension of stay and re-entry permit expire. It is advisable to get a new yearly extension at the time of your visa renewal.
I think what Barry actually has is a year "EXTENSION OF STAY" that they got from the immigration office where they live based on marriage to a thai
AND
they are going to apply for a NEW yearly extension in November, and buy a re-entry permit at that time
Once they get the year extension inked into their passport and have a re-entry permit they can leave the country for as long as their extension is valid for if they want.
So leaving the country for 6 months is no problem at all
I'm confused 🤔 if you renew your non o visa extension of stay for one year in November, you will need to buy a single Re-entry permit to keep your one year extension valid when you return to Thailand in 6 months.
hmmmm... you have a Non O multiple entry Visa as Married to Thai ??? Or a one year extension of stay as Married to Thai with 400,000 Thai baht in your Thai bank account ?

There is no limit on how long you are out of Thailand. You just need to be back before your extension of stay and re-entry permit expire IF you want to apply for another yearly extension on the stamp you have.
