I see Bali has a 30 day exempt visa at entry. Am I right in thinking. That if I fly out there  for a few days to a week, the day my tourist visa expires.  On my return to Thailand my passport will be stamped with a 60 day exempt.

when I left from Bkk the first time. I was informed by immigration at the airport that I would be able to come and go as many times through out the year. This was at the same time as they changed their length of tourist visa from 30days to 60 days…

Also from from what I have just read. since 2023 British Uk passport holders can obtain a 30 visa on arrival. Just guessing now. Is the fee paid at Indonisian / Bali passport control. Or is one directed to immigration area.

it's called a visa on arrival, and despite the name of it, you can now buy one in advance. If you do that then you pay upfront, obviously. Otherwise you have a desk to buy a visa first, before passport control. But there are no queues anymore, since everyone is buying it upfront by now. It's easiest to buy there on the spot.

keep in mind that while two consecutive visa-exempt entries into Thailand will be absolutely no problem, not even if you have maxxed out your first exempt entry by a 30-days extension, a third attempt can result in getting questioned, warned to obtain the correct visa for your purposes, on your next visit, and get you "flagged" in the Immigration computer system.

two visa-exempt entries are definitely possible - depending that your stamp history doesn't show extensive use of tourist or exempt entries in the recent 365 days period. After that, I don't give you a guarantee any more 😄😅

Bali have visa on arrival ( 500k IDR fee ), not exemption unless you’re from ASEAN countries

Visa exempt into thailand is 60 days. Whether you leave on day 60 or on day two and return the same day or 20 days later you will get 60 days on entry... whether you will be allowed to enter though is down to the immigration officer you're facing at the time

nope, it's extremely rare you get a choice. It's my understanding that the vast majority of the time they will force you to fly back to the country of the passport you are holding.

most the time they will force you to buy a ticket back to the country of the passport you're holding, sometimes someone will get extremely lucky and get to choose where but the vast majority don't get this option. If you don't have the money they will hold you in an immigration detention unit (at your own cost) until you can buy a ticket.

I think they normally send you back from where you flew from but not 100% certain. Unless you have been to Thailand many times recently I don't think you will have a problem and will get another 60 day stamp.
