Hi Guys, bit of a situation. I'm coming to Thailand from Phnom Penh for 38 days, I was going to apply for the 60 day tourist visa from here until I realised I've misplaced my UK passport. A replacement would take too long, so I'm going to have to get an "emergency travel document" which allows me to go to 5 countries on the way to my destination. I believe I have to specify dates for each country. Does anybody know if I can get 30 days on arrival AND THEN extend it for 30 days once in Thailand if I'm on an emergency travel document? Can I specify that I will be staying in Thailand 38 days on my emergency document even though I don't yet have the extension or know if it's even possible? I'm a little worried and wondering if it's best to stay in Cambodia an extra 8 days so that I can just get 30 days on arrival with the emergency document. Does anybody have experience in this situation?

Maybe come now and take the chance? At worse u are out in 30 days.

Once in you can go to BKK to make a new passport, no? I did it recently (I had my old passport tho) and it took a bit less then 3 weeks to receive it so u should be fine. I believe there is more paper to fill if u don't have old passport.

Went u say fixed do u mean u already book a plane ticket? Maybe then u can border bounce after 30 days on that same emergency travel document?

OR... stay for 38 days and pay 8 days overstay (4k baht), if money is not an issue and this is between this and leaving 8 days early.

, my exit date is fixed, but I'd like to come sooner rather than later. I suppose the most sensible option is to wait and not enter Thailand until 30 days before I leave. I want to come now though.

I honestly don't know IF you can get a 30 day extension to a 30 day visa exempt entry when entering the country on an 'emergency travel document".

Sorry about that. BUT I'd say plan to come for just 30 days. Then once you're here check with the immigration office on whether you can get an extension and if you can then stay longer.
