My one year extension of stay expires at the end of April. I need to get back to US for Taxes and SS application. Is it possible to extend earlier than 30 days stated. I have read some places are 45 days which would be great. I live in Samut Prakan. Is Samut Prakan Immigration office one that will allow the extension 45 days prior to expiration.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the possibility of extending their one-year extension of stay in Thailand earlier than the standard 30 days, specifically seeking information on the immigration office in Samut Prakan and whether it allows extensions 45 days prior to expiration. The comments suggest alternative options for social security applications in Manila and filing taxes from Thailand.

Look at the website of the wanted Immigration office.

If you cannot extend just leave and apply for a new Non-O before you return then all future extensions will not be in the April period

he’ll need the 800k again unless he applies at home

Not necessarily. If he’s been transferring 65k monthly for the past year & doesn’t skip a beat while he’s gone, he’ll satisfy the monthly income option, regardless of where he applies.

wrong the new non-o is a new visa he’ll need the money I’ve already done the same thing only I was bringing in the money for 11 years but depending on what office he could get lucky

You were “bringing in the money” sounds like you either had a marriage extension or are from a country whose embassy still provides income verification letters. Retirement extensions offer two ways to qualify, with 800k in the bank the only option for most people, especially if their embassies no longer provide letters. This is because the monthly income method requires proof you’ve transferred funds from a foreign source into a Thai bank account in your name only. In the OP’s case, he’s been here for a year already, so theoretically he can go the monthly income route if all requirements are otherwise maintained.

You are aware you can apply for SS at the US embassy in Manila in the Philippines. They handle all social security issues, including new applications, for most of South East Asia including Thailand. You can also file your taxes from Thailand.
