I currently holding a non O multi entry visa due to expire early October and I asked my local immigration office if they would do an extension. Their answers was blunt No go out of Thailand. Is there any way to extend this type of visa inside Thailand late September. Any advise

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking advice on extending their Non-O multi-entry visa before its expiration in early October while remaining in Thailand. Despite being informed that an extension is not possible by the local immigration office, various comments suggest alternatives. Some users recommend applying for a 60-day family visit extension if eligible, as it does not require proof of funds, while others mention the option of shifting funds into a Thai bank account to meet financial requirements for future applications. Discussions also address the necessity of paying attention to visa regulations, especially in light of disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

i think you might be confusing the visa expiry date with the stamp that shows the date you need to leave thailand. i've done the same before and it cost me 20,000 baht in overstay fines. the amnesty has allowed you to avoid the same penalty but it will probably cost nearly as much for an agent who can get you onto another visa in country. otherwise you will need to go out before 26 september (not october) and return with quarantine, which will work out more expensive.

You don’t need to switch to 60 days spouse. Now till 26 sept u need to get all the document done for the marriage extension. Either 400k baht in bank or 40k baht of income
. How does he show two months seasoning of the 400k in the bank account between Aug 30th and Sept 26? When I went to school that works out at 27 days, which is 33 days short of the minimum. Please help me with this one

Well if your plan is not to get a yearly extension of stand and it's indeed to "fly outta here" you either need to do it BEFORE the 26th of Sept when the amnesty you're on expires
OR
you need to get the 60 day visit thai family extension and then fly out in Nov when that runs out.
I'm done, i've provided as accurate of information as I can, outlined your choices, pointed out the difference between a visa and an entry stamp from a visa.
There's not much more I can do other than wish you well
Good Luck, take care, stay safe :)

A VISA does not let you stay IN thailand it lets you request to get in and if they let you in you get stamped in for the days that visa allows.
You have a visa for a year, BUT that doesn't mean you can stamp in to thailand and stay a whole year. That visa has a 90 day limit PER entry, meaning when you came in, you were stamped in for 90 days because you held that visa..
LOOK at your little blue entry stamp in your passport it should have the date you stamped in and the date you're admitted to stay AND those dates should be 89 days apart. Your 90 day entry stamp ran out MONTHS ago and you're on amnesty. AND because if that you have the choices I outlined in the previous comment available

please realize I mean no disrespect, and it seems clear to me you didn't understand how that visa actually worked when you bought it and entered the country on it. It's definitely a valid visa good for a year, BUT you only get stamped in for 90 days at a time on it, AND because of this covid-shit-show, the "bounce out and back to get a new 90 day stamp) is the problem you face..
I think you're confusing a couple things. You got a year-long, multi-entry Non-Immigrant Type O visa based on marriage from a thai consulate in another country. That visa is good for a year from the date it's issued and good for unlimited entries to thailand. Each entry gets you stamped in for 90 days (and normally when there isn't a world changing virus running amuck in the world) you would just go to a border stamp out of thailand, stamp in and out of another country and then stamp back into thailand to get you a NEW 90 day entry stamp and you would do that for the whole validity of the visa.
You can't do that so you're faced with three choices, get a 60 day visit family extension to buy you time to get your funds in the bank and seasoned, then apply for a yearly extension of stay after that OR prepare to leave on or by Sept 26th when the amnesty you're on now runs out
exactly. People need to take care of immigration business now!
I was just there on Friday in chonburi and it was dead. I had two que infront of me. I actualy had to do a couple different things. And as I kept going to different counters I couldn't get my applications filed out fast enough Before I was called up. And the tm30 area was completely empty.
not to beat a dead whore :O er horse BUT you've been in this country for the last SIX months on that 90 day Non-O entry. :(
you're telling me in that time you never thought about getting the 400K baht in the bank for 2 months so you could apply for a yearly extension based on marriage at the immigration office?
Well, be that as it may you MIGHT <- as in maybe, be able to apply for a 60 day visit thai family extension that doesn't require proof of funds at the immigration office
AND
hopefully that would give you time enough to get the funds in a thai bank account in your name only and let them season the 2 months they need to be before you then apply for the year extension
marriage documents, thai wife id, thai wife house book, your lease if you rent, etc. Swing by your immigration office and get the hand out that lists the requirements. It costs 1900baht for the 60 day visit family extension and there is no proof of funds required on getting that one

Thanks for the positive and negative feedback today I'll investigate the 60day extension for visiting family. What physical proof is required to apply for this extension. I understand application form however there must be some proof required
I am not saying you do not know the border bounce process, I was trying to explain why Immigration was not interested in you when you showed up every 3 months.

Retirement isn't my thing as I've another decade before government pension kicks in
I understand the border bounce process. Simply drive to the border get stamped out of Thailand drive threw to the other countries border then in and out of Malaysia and return to Thailand
Immigration was not interested in you reporting every three months, as they had no problem with you. You were here legal, on amnesty. They had no reason to do anything else. Reporting to immigration does not replace your border bounce every three months.
. OK. So you got a mighty big hint in April that things were going belly up, but you sat back and did nothing. Now you're up shit creek. Do exactly what
oh yes I've tried reporting to immigration every 3months as the borders are closed and they aren't interested. I try to keep myself legal and if the immigration office isn't interested in people trying to keep legal I don't know what else to do. My plans were to fly out of Thailand the start of April however due to Covid those plans were screwed. The purpose of the question today was to get helpful information not being slagged off at. My plans are still to fly out of Thailand when things settle. My Thai wife with or without me as my home country has its own problems with COVID
I think if you look at your blue rectangular entry stamp you will see that you got stamped in for only 90 days when you entered the country and you actually have a year-long, multi-entry non-O visa that requires you bounce out and back into the country every 90 days
BUT now that's out of the question due to the covid-shit storm I believe that 90 day stamp expired months ago. BUT correct me if I'm wrong.
Did you BUY a year-long, multi-entry Non-O visa from a thai consulate in another country?
Put 400k in Thai bank. Look into switching to a visit Thai spouse 60 day extension. No financial requirements for that. Then you will be on a proper stamp rather than amnesty. Two months of money in the bank and then you'll be able to do a regular 1 year extension. It needs seasoning, so get the money in before you do the special once off 60 day extension. Showing 40k/month income may be an alternative to the 400k in the bank.

I have visited the local office the pat 2months requesting the list of requirements to extend the visa and because the visa was issued in Laos they are saying go out of Thailand

My current timing doesn't allow for the requirements of 2or3 months
You can get around the two or three months requirement by putting it in a fixed account and providing a letter stating you will leave the money in the account. This is the way they do it in Chiangmai. Immigration

What kind of extension are you asking for. If you meet the requirements there is no reason they can't extend it as your not on amnesty.

You should be able to get a One year Extension of Stay by showing you meet the financial requirements... either 400,000 baht in the bank account in your name only. Or proof of 40,000 baht per month (of foreign origin) for the past 12 months.
it may depend on the immigration office but for some the visit Thai family extension may work. That both takes you off amnesty and also gives you the time for the money to season. It's a special once only 60 day extension.
my visa was issued October 2019 and I've been under amnesty since April as the borders were closed unable to leave and return to Thailand. I'm hoping to remain in Thailand. The extension or renewal of my visa is always high on my priorities

I presume he is on amnesty, if it's a 90 day multiple entry he got last October unlikely he entered in the last 90 days, he was presumably here when the country locked down. Ergo, he's on amnesty and that's why he can't extend.
