TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently on a 60-day Single Entry Tourist Visa (SETV) in Koh Samui and seeks advice on extending their stay for an additional 30 days and then possibly for 7 more days. Comments indicate that while a 30-day extension is possible for 1900 baht, applying for further extensions could lead to a denial and a 7-day exit period. It is suggested to skip the 7-day extension and instead leave the country to acquire a new SETV.
I would do but trying to help a friend out and he comes back to Thailand on the 8 Jan and and with my 30 day extension it gets me to 4 Jan so was hoping the extra 7 day would sort that problem out

You can extend for 30 days for 1900baht. Then if you apply for another extension it will be denied and you'll get the "application for extension denied" stamp that gives you 7 days to get outta thailand and it costs 1900baht as well.
I'd say forgo the 7 day extension and just go get another SETV.
