Hi I will be travelling to Phuket on a 45 day visa free travel but would like to extend it to stay another 15 days. Is an extension possible? I have read conflicting information saying I can extend for only 7 days or can I extend for a 30 day period? I am on a UK passport. Many Thanks ๐๐

TLDR : Answer Summary
A UK passport holder traveling to Thailand can extend their 45-day visa-free stay by 30 days at a local immigration office. To do this, you will need to fill out the TM7 Form and pay a fee of 1900 Baht. It's essential to apply within 30 days before your current entry expires. There's also an option called "Border Bounce" which allows you to leave and re-enter Thailand for another 45-day visa-free entry.

Apply using TM7 Form, and fee of 1900 Baht. Virtually automatic. You can apply anytime within 30 days of expiration of your current Entry. Also note, you can do a "Border Bounce" to neighboring countries, if you choose to stay longer, and receive another 45-day Visa Exempt Entry.
