Hello I am planning on coming to Thailand in November. I originally was looking at coming in on the tourist exemption visa for Australians. From this visa can I apply for the METV or should I just go straight for that visa in my country. I'm looking at staying thailand for a year. I was also looking into the education visa. Thanks for any help in advance ๐

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is considering entering Thailand on a tourist exemption visa but is uncertain whether they can apply for the Multiple Entry Tourist Visa (METV) after arrival or should obtain it beforehand in Australia. Commenters clarified that it is not possible to apply for any tourist visa, including the METV, from within Thailand. Instead, it is advisable to obtain the METV prior to arriving in Thailand, as it allows for several entries and nearly nine months of stay if planned correctly. The user is also interested in obtaining an education visa.

You get an METV from the thai consulate in your country before you come here. So yes I'd say that your ๐๐ต๐ผ๐๐น๐ฑ ๐ ๐ท๐๐๐ ๐ด๐ผ ๐๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ถ๐ด๐ต๐ ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐๐ต๐ฎ๐ ๐๐ถ๐๐ฎ ๐ถ๐ป ๐บ๐ ๐ฐ๐ผ๐๐ป๐๐ฟ๐ is the correct answer and you should get a 6 month METV before you come here. That visa will let you get almost 9 months of stay out of it if you work the dates you bounce out and back correctly
As far as the looking into the ED visa, the place to do that is at the school you're thinking of enrolling in
