bit confused about the new Covid extension rules, I entered on an apec card at the end of November & am stamped until 27th February. Can I apply for a 60 day extension under the new rules or need to do a visa run? thanks as always

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking clarification on their eligibility for a 60-day extension of stay under the new Covid rules after entering Thailand on an APEC card, which is valid until 27th February. Community responses suggest consulting the immigration office for guidance on extensions, as the APEC card is intended for short-term business purposes rather than tourism.
Hi Paul, Im in the exact same situation (APEC entry, no extensions) so would appreciate if you posted here on any updates in the future. Thanks!

Paul Jeffels I see a trip to your immigration office in the near future to ASK them well in advance of your current covid extension running out so you're not caught having to leave on short notice if they tell you NO you can't get another covid extension
sorry I didn't mean any disrespect in my answers (they read stronger than I meant them ๐ฎ ) It's just we have NO track record to go on.. If it was the program that expired Tuesday I'd give you a different and better answer than the fall back "go ask at the immigration office"
again I apologize for the terse responses
Good luck with it, please report back once you find out something (y)

An APEC card is designed for short term business, and not for tourism. Since it is not a tourist visa, I would not EXPECT for another 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19 to be issued.
