TLDR : Answer Summary
Australian citizens can receive a visa-exempt stamp for up to 60 days upon arrival in Thailand. It's important not to confuse this with a visa on arrival, which is intended for travelers from other countries. When arriving, use the 'foreign passport' lanes, and keep your boarding card handy, as it may be requested by the immigration officer. If faced with long lines at the airport, travelers have the option to use a fast track service for a fee.
Or look at the Thai Embassy website in your country.

Yes visa exempt stamp for 60 days.

Just arrived to the airport, smile, say Sawadee Krup and let the officer stamp your passport. If there is a really huge line, ask for the fast track line. It will cost you 100 Baht ($5) but will save you about 2 hours of your time
They don’t have a tourist visa. They would be entering with no visa and getting a free visa exempt stamp for 60 days.
For many these days a tourist visa is pretty much irrelevant as they get 60 days exempt anyway.
Some countries still need one.

Australian citizens would get a visa free exempt stamp for 60 days. It’s not a Visa on Arrival (don’t follow those signs) as they are for different countries. Just go to the normal “foreign passport” queues. Keep your boarding card from the plane. The officer may request it.
