Any successful or unsuccessful stories about obtaining a visa from Nairobi? Due to the long waiting times for visa processing in countries near Thailand, we decided to fly back to Kenya, considering it’s for an East African passport holder. I’m still thinking about applying for a soft power visa or a workcation visa with a large YouTube channel (not travel-related, more educational).
Unfortunately, the embassy in Nairobi has been unresponsive despite making dozens of phone calls throughout the month and sending several emails. The only information available on their website is that the DTV visa can be issued.
Another question, if the main applicant gets approved in Nairobi, is it possible for us to return to Jakarta or Taipei for family members to apply as dependents? The embassy in Nairobi states on their website that they don’t accept documents without an East African residence permit. Has anyone tried this approach having the main applicant apply in their home country while dependents apply for their visas at embassies near Thailand? Thank you!
Hi all, please excuse me if this isn’t the best question. I am doing my research into visas as my wife really wants to move to Thailand. We are US citizens. She works remotely and I believe would apply for the DVT visa. What would I do in regards to a visa or our two kids? If there is some reference material I missed somewhere, I apologize, please point me in the right direction. Thank you all so much!
Hello, I need advice or feedback regarding the DTV Visa with families.
Has anyone applied for this visa while “including” family members? Let me explain: my partner (we’re not married) and I are both self-employed, and we would like to move to Thailand with our two-year-old daughter next year. After spending more than seven months here during different trips, we are sure of our decision.
Now, we’re considering possibly hiring an immigration agent for some guidance, but I would also love to hear feedback from this community. Do you think the DTV is the simplest and most suitable option for our case? Since we are not married, would that be an issue for being on the same visa?
Does our daughter need an education visa if she attends school there, or can we simply include her on our visa? I am aware that this visa is very recent, and any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.
Im a US citizen, currently in Indonesia. I accepted a job offer in Bangkok, I will come to Thailand in a couple days
My question is in regards to spouse visas. My spouse is Indonesian, I've asked my employer and the embassy and searched online but still havent found anything concrete
If I have a job in Thailand, and they provide me a visa and work permit, am I then able to apply for a spouse visa for my Indonesian wife (she isnt working)?
Question: about the Thai Consulate in Vientiane , Laos.
Has anyone had problems there processing a follower/dependents' (for children or spouse) visa on their volunteer visa application?
My friends are heading there but were told that there might be a problem with this particular embassy which doesn't approve or provide the service for family/follower visas?
Q: With a Non OA retirement visa I appreciate the 800,000 Bht being held in a bank account for a single retiree. However, if one was to retire with 2x dependents (1x partner & 1x school age child), what would the required total to be held in the bank? Thanks in advance ......
Hello. I live in Thailand, and my Son was at university overseas until a medical diagnosis meant he had to leave. It is a chronic disease which he undertakes specialist treatment for every 8 weeks, with frequent operations. Unfortunately, he was denied a medical visa as he was not inpatient, and as he is over 18, not classed as my dependent. We have therefore been flying him between in laws elsewhere in Asia and Thailand. This time, though, his next operation has been delayed and he is already in country on a 30 day entry stamp (not a tourist visa). His operation date will take him over the 30 day. Do we need to get him in and out again, or can he extend? We previously tried but were refused in Rayong, but other forums seem to suggest he should be able?
