Only looking for local travel rather than visa advice, so I hope thats O.K.

I will be renewing my spouse visa at Savannakhet in December, travelling by air from Chiang Mai to Ubon Ratchathani and onwards to Mukdahan.

With a flight arrival time of 14:40 at UBP, should I be confident timewise in crossing the border into Savannakhet on the same day?

Perhaps there is a shuttle van service to the border from UBP like at Udon Thani? If not, is there a reasonably stress free alternative? I would prefer to spend my time in Laos rather than Ubon or Mukdahan.

The same question goes in reverse for a flight departing UBP 18:55 to CNX. Would I have plenty of time getting from Savannakhet to Ubon for the flight out?

I would be super grateful to hear from anyone having had experience or advice with this kind of schedule.
