Looking for some advice, please.

Am a UK citizen planning a 3 month (90 day) stay in Thailand.

I understand I should benefit from 60 day visa exempt stay on arrival and may then be allowed to extend for a further 30 days.

If so and in which case, when should I attend at the Immigration (or whatever) office for my bolt-on 30 days because, assuming the extension is granted, does the additional 30 day period commence on the day it is approved or is it counted from the last day of my 60 day visa exempt period?

For example, if I arrived on April 1st, what would be the last day in June beyond which I would be classed as having overstayed if I attended at the office, say, 3 days before my 60 day period was up?

The Time and Date website calculates that 90 days from 1st April would be 29th June (including both the 1st April and 29th June in its calculation).

Effectively, if intending to arrive on 1stApril, should I book a return flight for 29th June when booking my flights or would that mean I would have to apply for an extension on the very final day of my initial 60 day exemption?

What I don't want to happen is book my return date and find it causes an overstay I have to either pay a fine for (as well as receive a blot on my passport) or pay for an expensive flight adjustment.

Hope that’s clear enough but would welcome any questions so as to help clarify.

Many thanks.

Hi guys! Can I submit a TM30 after 24 hours (say 7 weeks later)?

I am thinking of extending my stay for 30 days (with a visa exempt).

The owner of my rented home submitted TM30 by internet when I moved in. A few weeks later I made application for a new extension of my non-O (retirement). The officer demanded a receipt (hardcopy) to prove that TM30 had been filed, but I had none. I was very nearly denied the extension as a result. After much discussion they accepted copies of the owner's house book, ID card and some business credentials.

I do not understand why, but it seems that the immigration officers are unable to access the database which I assume contains the record of the online filing - in fact, they seemed not to believe that such a thing exists. What can I do now to ensure that this does not happen again next time I must seek an extension of stay?

Advice is needed please. I am worried so much because I never reported TM 28 since I am in Thailand. Last time I entered Thailand on 26th December. Shall I go to immigration and do it now ? Any penalties? Really worried about that :((((

Forgot to mention my landlord submitted TM30 to immigration.

I live on a NON-IMM visa in Samui.I went for a few days to Penang. Back home in Samui I went to the IO to hand them the TM30. I was told to do it online. I tried but cold not. I sent a message via the "contact us" of the IO . I haven't got any answer. I think the fact is that we pay the 2000 fine. Any similar experience???

Update on non-O yearly extension at CW (based on support Thai Kid) on 8th Oct. All pretty standard except for 2 things :

- IO Asked for Letter from school certifying that my kid was enrolled in school and a photo of the kid on front of school => never heard of this before and neither did my agent. Got away with not having it but IO said must have next year.

- in case, I did a TM30 for the first time ever on 7th Oct (with my wife account as I live in her place after got username and pw in August), put myself as check-in on 7th Oct (1 day before my visit to CW) and no questions asked, no fine, no comment whatsoever. (I printed a screenshot from the section 38 app in English).

Hi friends, I just wondered what the script is for filling out TM30s for long-term guests? Where do you find these, and how can you make it clear that you're not a hotel or guesthouse?

I heard there was a grace period for this until Sept 9, but I am out of the country so only just heard. Is there a big penalty for submitting late? How do you sort this?

Thanks for your advice!
