I'm really a bit disappointed with Thai Immigration.
I travel a lot, and my passport book was full. I asked the Chiang Mai Immigration office to move my Visa Extension (based on Retirement), and my Multi Re-entry permit to a new passport book.
In the new passport, officials painstakingly recreated many, of not all of the previous visa entries, and then proceeded to add "correct copy" signature stamps below each catagory.
Now, three pages are already consumed.
Why couldn't they just put the visa and the re-entry stamp on the first page and use the computer records at every desk to review the prior stamps if necessary? Why do they have to be recreated in my passport?
I realize begpackers and visa abusers' histories needs to be reviewed at the borders, but isn't that what the computers are for? Cant annual visa holders be exempted from copying all the stamps
This is going to get ridiculous if I stay here for 10+ years. Not to mention the time it will take to review and re-stamp 20+ annual visas and then add "correct copy" stamps into a new passport in 2034.
MY other hope is that one day much of this application and renewal process can be automated and moved online. Cheaper and more efficient.
I have a retirement visa. I have ticket purchased to fly BKK to India on 12 January.
Now I have an invite to Philippines but in order to get my BKK to India flight I would have tonovernight in Bangkok.
What do I do in terms of Re-entry permits.
First one is to entry through Bangkok.
Then another before fly to India next day?
Or can I stay over one night in Bangkok on a transit visa and have my re-entry permit for when I re-enter from India rather than Philippines. TIA for advice
I’m a university student so I get yearly visa extensions. I currently have a multi re-entry permit. When my visa is extended again for the coming school year do I need to get another multi re-entry for that extension?
Hello I recently obtained a one year extension on my non o retirement visa and a multi re-entry permit. I’ll be leaving the kingdom soon for a few months… do I need an exit stamp or anything else before I depart? Thank you in advance.
Hi all question. I’m going to get my EofS (Extension of Stay) today. Which starts with a Under Consideration Stamp. My Current EofS marriage expires 25/01/2023. This is what I will be renewing.
I will buy a multi re-entry permit while I’m there. Is it possible to leave Thailand while on a current Under Consideration stamp? TYIA
I have a current O retirement visa and multi re entry permit in my old passport , I have a new passport, do I need to do anything other than present both passports at Thai immigration when returning next week, as I don't want to risk having my current retirement visa and re entry permit cancelled if I haven't followed a set process? Thanks for any help or information.
If you buy a multi Re-entry permit at Bkk airport does it carry over when you make a year long extension?
Or is it only valid for the current visa you hold? My husband has a 90 day single entry non b. He has to leave the country before making his year long extension. But we plan on taking many international trips throughout the year. Should he buy a multi Re-entry permit now? Or buy a single Re-entry permit for this trip and then buy a multi Re-entry permit once he makes his year long extension?
Maybe this is a stupid question but I’m confused how to go about it and don’t want to buy a multi Re-entry now to have to buy another when his extension is processed. Thank you
Applied at Jomtien immigration for renewal of extension of stay on Friday. Today picked up passport at 2 Pm with renewal stamp in passport, completed multi re entry permit application and walked out of immigration at 2.30 Pm with permission to come and go as required for another year. Thanks to this FB page for having all the information available to make this a hassle free experience....
