I have a question (sorry Tod this can't wait) I think it's not really visa related, it's residency certificate related which is immigration related.  Close enough. Anyway I just dug out the rental contract to get my residency certificate tomorrow and I now see that my wife signed the contract as tenant and I only signed as a witness.  Will this affect whether I get the certificate or not?  Do you think I can get away with using Tip Ex (whiteout/liquid) to change her name to mine and then photo copy it an provide the photo copies at immigration?

Well, i have a question about that too, we move to Thailand in November but the rental contracts (in Thai and English) are both put on my name.

What if i go first?

Beste Miek, Within 24 hours after arrival you fill in the TM30 form, can be found in the files section here) with both of your names, copy ID landlord and blue book and report at Immigration that both of you living on that address.

Don't use Tip Ex to change the form. Let your wife join you and declare you live together at the same address, like most of the married people do in normal life.

You can ask your wife to write a letter before you go. Just to be more on the safe side.
