TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses whether immigration will use the last visa page of a passport when applying for a new visa, especially if the individual's new passport will not arrive in time. Comments indicate that as long as the visa page is valid and empty, it can be used. However, some warn that pages meant for endorsements may not be accepted, suggesting that at least two pages dedicated to visas should be available.
they usually don't count the pages. If there is a spot to use they will use it

Found this out the hard way, and had to leave the country to get a new visa. Since it takes about 3+ weeks to get a new passport this can get tricky very fast. The last two pages in the US passport are for endorsements only, so immigration won't use them, they want two pages left which are dedicated to visas only. (at least this is what Samui immigration told us at that time.)
what Lloyd means is SOME passports have pages reserved for endorsements and other stamps and immigrations will NOT stamp an extension on those pages
here's a US passport showing the pages they won't stamp and the ones they will, top image pages listed for visas (extensions etc) bottom image pages saying endorsements

As long as it is a valid page for stamps, yes they will use it
