TLDR : Answer Summary
A user plans to fly to Cambodia, travel overland to Bangkok, and return to the UK, questioning whether they can book tickets and obtain a visa on returning to Bangkok. The discussion includes queries about the user's citizenship (UK), visa requirements (Tourist Visa), the process of land entry into Thailand, past visa usage, and recommendations for obtaining the visa.
I would suggest you explore that question with a forum like ThaiVisa.com. They have many expats who have sought assist with How to get a visa for a Thai girlfriend to the UK . As your marriage is still not recognized.
I've been to Thailand in 2019 but came by plane I've never done land crossing before but was planning on using visa excempt then using tourist on return
so be easier going from Thailand to Cambodia? and I've been 2 times last year first time 4 days second time 3 month and went this year for 2 month & I'll do it from UK like you said online

First things first...
You need to consider getting a Tourist Visa SETV in the UK.
Then with that...fly to Thailand.
Go to visit Cambodia from Thailand with wife.
If you have a history of recent entries into Thailand...discuss that with us as Thai Consulates neighboring Thailand have recently been known to deny issue of a Tourist Visa if the applicant has history of multiple entries into Thailand.
I just want visit other Asian country so was thinking Cambodia that will be solo travel for me and I thought her visa to UK would be similar to way I get a tourist visa is it alot different for a thai person to obtain visa to UK? & I'll take look
as you are in the UK...its best you get a Tourist Visa using the new UK Thai E-Visa online application...that will give you up to 90 days in Thailand.
See the TOPIC which I will attach to your post which discusses the UK on line application process.
I do not understand the need to go to Cambodia...unless its Tourism related visit for you both.
The question also is of her ability to obtain a Visa to the UK. Thats another subject you will be exploring and not Thai Visa related. As you are not officially married, you may have some difficulty in her obtaining it.
I'm in UK & she's in Thailand the marriage not done by embassy as she needs wait on divorce and I don't have any visa yet I understand she will need get tourist for UK and I will need to get tourist visa when return to bangkok

นิค แฟร์รี่ thank you. We now have better understanding.
...You are Married to a Thai.
...I assume that she is in Thailand now.
...Where are you now?
In Thailand or UK?
...If you are in Thailand, ...What kind of visa do you now have?
...Were you Married in Thailand? Has the marriage been recorded in Thailand?
...Lets see what your answers are ...then can explore your options.
