TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring if Bangkok immigration will accept their overseas marriage certificate, specifically the kor ror 2/3 forms needed for a visa extension. Commenters suggest that the original marriage certificate should be sufficient for the extension, referencing experiences with similar situations in Phuket and the possibility of obtaining a NON-O visa via the Thai consulate in Savannakhet.
NON-O RETIREMENT VISA RESOURCES / SERVICES
Go to the Retirement Visa Section for information on requirements, including age restrictions, financial requirements, and necessary documentation.
For immediate assistance, contact Thai Visa Centre directly via LINE at @ThaiVisaCentre or Email them.
Explore recent discussions by using the Non-O Retirement Visa tag in the search box at the top of the page.
they usually translate the marriage certificate and the data page of your passport into thai, get it certified by the MFA, then take it and the power of attoney forms to an Amphur and get the KR 22.
Make sure when they translate your name into thai that it's as close as you can get :/ That's gonna be your legal name from now on in thai.:O A good friend of mine from the UK whose named Sean (pronounced as Shawn) is now Seen (ซีน) in thai :(
i just told my wife we might as well do it ourselves at the rate of things we are signing lol. but anythign to avoid bkk traffic is worth it she says haha
, you couldn't register a new marriage because you're already married. Make sure that the service who is doing the translation etc also takes you to an AMphur and gets you a Kor Ror 22 <- that's the registration of a thai marriage abroad in thailand.

After getting ignored for hours calling their phone we ended up just heading to samut prakan.
Leaarned that:
-as long as you're in bangkok any immigration office within bangkok is fine.
-Also told that we cannot simply register a new marriage. so looks like we have to go through the tedious process. but wife found a service that sorts it out for us for 4k baht as we dont have time to run around.
report back and let us know how it goes if you can :)
Good Luck

Thx, We're going to try that tomorrow since I have to wait anyway. I'm pretty sure we got away with it some years ago.

If you can't get the paperwork together to get a yearly extension you can always go to the thai consulate in Savannakhet and get a year long, multi-entry, Non-O visa based on marriage with no financials and the original marriage certificate without any translations, your wifes thai i/d card and her house book listing.
Heck you could even go there and get a 90 day single entry Non-O that way if you wanted and then you'd have 90 days to sort out your marriage cerificate's authenticity and let your money season for your yearly extension.

Thx for the tip. i am hoping i wont resort to that as visa expires 8th of may. we'll bring the kids in to the office to hammer it home lol.
Thanks again...i would have asked her earlier to call instead of bothering you but she's been very busy and out of town these last few days and times running out.
damn, i was afraid of that...ok i'll get on to it with the missus.... If you dont mind and while i have your attention :) :
- I am only 18 days away from my visa expiry date now but i am delaying as my 400k isn't seasoned for another few days yet. Do i have to wait till it's exactly two months?
- if i extend at samut prakan, do i have to do all my upcoming 90 day reports there?
- is it easier to extend my stay there as well or can i switch to chanegwattana if i'm not happy with them later on? (SP is closer to me but i would prefer to do online reporting and it appears i cant through them right?)
yep, I think it's gonna hafta be stamped by your embassy as real (or more likely the embassy of the country you got married in) , then translated into thai, then certified by the ministry of foreign affairs.
Once you do go thru all those hoops, you might as well go to the local amphur and get the marriage abroad registered. They will give you a Kor Ror 22 form (thai married abroad) and you would use that from then on instead of all the hoop jumping.
