Does it make sense that the next walk-in appointment is not until August?
I am wanting to apply for Online Visa, looking for the next available appointment to the Royal Thai Embassy in Vientiane.
It seems the next available date is not til August.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The long wait for walk-in appointments at the Royal Thai Embassy in Vientiane is due to the high demand from Myanmar citizens, as both Vientiane and Savannakhet have switched to an appointment-only system. It is possible to look for cancellations or consider visiting a different embassy that allows walk-ins. Additionally, some individuals suggest alternative methods to expedite the process, such as using a local facilitator for immediate assistance.
For anyone who wants to go to Savannakhet without an appointment… be warned about the long wait time in the hot sun. A very nice guy can get you in faster though, if you pay him 1,000 baht.
well then is ok to assume that i can leave Thailand tomorrow (end date of Visa) by train to Vientiane and fly back into Bangkok, which gives me another 30 days...thus starting my Tourist Visa cycle over?
Sorry to be pedantic but the correct terminology can make a huge difference as to whether an answer is correct or misleading.

Yes it makes sense. Since both Vientiane and Savannakhet switched to an appointment only system, hundreds of Myanmar citizens go there each week to get Thai visas. There are agents that are booking dozens of appointments per day for them.
You can either check the website multiple times per day to look for cancellations, or go to a different embassy that accepts walk-ins.
