I have a friend, a Thai National, returning to Phuket being asked for a ticket out of Thailand for being allowed boarding Qatar Airways.
Did anyone hear of this before?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user reports that their Thai national friend was asked for a ticket out of Thailand by Qatar Airways in order to board their flight back to Phuket. Several commenters express disbelief, suggesting that if the individual is using a Thai passport, this requirement should not apply. Others recount similar negative experiences with the airline, highlighting perceived communication issues and a lack of understanding regarding travel documentation for Thai citizens.
Over the years I have had more issues at check in than I have had at immigration. I found by holding my ground and asking to see a manager has worked every time. But it is a big stress.

I had a huge problem with this airline too. They had a communication problem. I had the necessary documents but they refused to take them. I truly think they needed my seat that I had upgraded to in business classes. Very disturbing.
