Proof that people will complain about ANYTHING for no reason.
"I wish I could buy that but I can't..."
"Why can't you?"
"I can, but why would I want to?"

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion covers complaints individuals have regarding insurance for entry into Thailand, highlighting varying perspectives about the necessity and implications of local versus foreign insurance policies. Users express frustrations with bureaucratic inconsistencies, debate the necessity of having Thai insurance to meet visa requirements, and offer advice on affordable options, especially regarding Covid coverage for tourists.
Has anyone got any good contacts for cheap covid insurance if travelling from uk? Thanks

Wow, it really is amazing, the people you meet on Facebook, eh? Grown children who are so dense and pedantic that they will pick a fight over anything. I’m the “Mark” in that conversation poor Garrett is crying over, so distressed by his confusion with life that he was compelled to share his grief in his own post. Little Garrett just does not understand yet how the rest of the world works, and how other people’s lives just are not exactly like his, and by golly, it looks like he will cry and stomp and throw tantrums until people calm him down and pretend to agree with him. So, everybody, please tell Precious Garrett that, indeed, it is very stupid that some people somehow believe that they can't use duplicating insurance policies, and pat him on his sweaty forehead before he ramps-up his campaign even more, to settle his petty quarrel with the world. Or don’t – might be fun to watch.

Agree with the hidden guy! Why would he buy another insurance if he already has one ???

Xander Smirnoff sure, I just find it odd criticising a country yet going back when you clearly aren't happy 👍 each to their own
Really? Do you? I don’t find it odd. it’s possible to criticize many aspects of the country and still love the other.

Xander Smirnoff if his insurance doesn't meet a country's requirements then he has 2 choices...suck it up and buy suitable insurance to meet entry requirements or go elsewhere
It’s allowed...but it’s just a colossal waste of your time.

Ah yes... insurance... now it is either 3 million Baht for A/O Visa or what was it today... 50,000 US??? The question is relevant and with the Thai government waffling from one day to the next with no clear standardization across the board... it is a question that will come up often. This bit about having to have a Thai insurance company issue said coverage vs one from overseas... well... other than the Thai companies wanting to make more money from the Farangs not t metion the government... it should NOT matter a dam where you arrange for your coverage as long as the coverage in keeping with what is required. But do give the guy a break. For like the rest of us here in Thailand keeping our heads around the daily even hourly changes not to mention the fact that different answers will be gotten depending on where/who/day of the week/or mood of the individual in authority you talk to. Even the foreign Thai embassies have no idea. Just ask them at the consulate in LA or Paris (to name 2).
If anybody has a Insurance - Social or Privat and the pay woldwide - Or like normal a Travel Insurance from wherever that is includ Covid - It must be OK!
It is not OK if Thailand accept only Thai Insurances - if zhe make so, sure the do it for Hospitals can better snd more easy play with the Insurance Money- and thats not OK
