Hello,

Just new here and wanted an advice based on my career. Im planning to move to Thailand and I wanted to ask which will be more easier to obtain in my situation, DTV visa or LTR? considering that I'm freelance interior and real estate photographer and i have my own small photography business and trade license in the country that im resident of.

And either if its DTV or LTR visa what papers will i need.

Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is a freelance interior and real estate photographer looking to move to Thailand and seeks advice on whether to pursue a DTV visa or an LTR visa. Comments suggest that the LTR visa might be hard to qualify for in the user's situation, making the DTV visa a more viable option. However, both visa types do not allow for working in Thailand, with the DTV allowing remote operation of an overseas business. The LTR visa, if qualified for, offers significant long-term benefits.

It’s an absolute no brainer. If you qualify for LTR, you get LTR. It’s a 10 year residency visa not a 5 year tourist visa. It’s offers either tax exempt, or low tax if working. FastTrack service at airports. No 90 day reporting. No 180 days exits or renewal. It’s just a far better visa

It'll be pretty difficult to perform your photography work remotely, so the soft power option is your only option for the DTV

Neither give you rights to carry out those jobs in Thailand though.

But DTV allows you to operate your overseas buisness from here

It's highly unlikely you would qualify for LTR visa, so the DTV would be a better choice
