Can anyone suggest where in Phuket an old retired couple should stay on the island? Visiting 5 months. Looking for a place that you can walk around, has restaurants and a bit of a hub for tours near a beach. Some expats in the area would be good. Not too expensive.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A retired couple considering a 5-month stay in Phuket is advised to explore areas like Kamala, Rawai, and Kata Noi. Kamala is highlighted for its nice beach, walkability, restaurants, and expat presence. Rawai also offers a variety of amenities, though getting around may require a vehicle. Suggestions include checking out Airbnb for rentals, particularly in Kamala, and joining expat groups on Facebook for further insights.

, Katathani, the hotel in Kata Noi, is over run with kids. There's also not much in Kata Noi and it's a bit of a walk into Karon the closest hub

Rawai. Plenty of everything. Wherever you decide you will need a car or bike

Troy Rockwell Phuket is expensive compared to mainland. There are plenty of cheap eating places. Do your research, we have been in Rawai for nearly 20 years since it was a small fishing village with nothing
