Where can I apply for the Thai DTV visa while in Vietnam?

Hi all! Where in Vietnam can I apply for the DTV? I'm currently on Phu Quoc island, can I apply and get the DTV here? As far as I understand one must apply online, but where do they place the visa sticker in your passport?

I will stay here until end of April. Is it OK if I apply for and get the visa 2 months before I intend to go to Thailand, or should I wait and only apply closer to my travel date?

Thanks in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
You can apply for a Thai DTV visa while in Vietnam, even from Phu Quoc Island, through the online application process. The visa is issued as a PDF file via email, eliminating the need for a physical sticker in your passport. It is advisable to check the specific consulate handling your application based on your location, likely the HCMC consulate in your case. Although you can apply two months before your planned travel to Thailand, you must remain in Vietnam until your application is processed.

You apply online, but you will still have to be in the same country as the Embassy, until you get your visa.

But you have to start by reading the Thai Embassy website thoroughly before you apply, since there is important info, you need to know and understand before applying.

It’s an online process. There will be no sticker in your passport. They will, once your application is approved, send you a pdf file by email. That will be your visa. Keep it, print it out, and show it to the immigration officer when you enter Thailand.

You can apply from Vietnam. I think from your location it will be via the HCMC consulate but you need to check that on the eVisa site. It gives a list of places in Vietnam and which embassy/consulate you need to apply to.

Proof of current location is required; your entry stamp to Vietnam, your hotel or lodging booking.

You need to stay in Vietnam until your application is processed.

I understood which sticker you were talking about. There is no sticker. It’s an online process. No sticker.

The visa is a pdf file which you print out and present with your passport.

There. Is. No. Sticker.

This is the visa sticker I'm talking about. Where would they place this in passport? Should I go to some embassy in Vietnam, or will this be placed in my passport upon arriving in Thailand?

Anonymous participant that was Taipei almost 3 months ago. We are telling you what's happening right now.

Anonymous participant - you won’t get this sticker. They no longer use them. Were used before all embassies went to that e-visa system.

The application is online, the e-visa is a PDF file emailed to you. All Thai visa applications are now online. When logging on to the system you state your current location, the responsible consulate or embassy according to your location will be displayed. I'd wait a month or two.
