Hi I'm a fully vaxxed Canadian so I'm planning on entering via Thailand Pass after Nov 1. My question is what type of visa should I get so I can stay the longest possible time? How much can I extend it? Will an education visa allow me to stay an extra year?
Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
A fully vaccinated Canadian entering Thailand after November 1 can consider several visa options for the longest possible stay. The options include: 1) a retirement visa for those over 50, which allows a 90-day stay upon arrival, extendable; 2) a tourist visa offering an initial 60 days, extendable for another 30 days; 3) a visa-exempt entry for 30 days, also extendable. For longer stays, the Special Tourist Visa (STV) is available, providing up to 270 days but requires significant paperwork. Additionally, an education visa could potentially allow for a stay of up to a year, depending on specific circumstances.

Special Tourist Visa (STV), gives you a total of 270 days though it is a pain to get. Lots of paperwork but maybe if you have the time and ask around for advice.
Sure is a load of money but well worth the move if you have the cash

It depends on your age. If you are over 50 you can apply for a “gezzer visa” or commonly referred to a as a retirement visa that would give you 90 days on arrival. If not a tourist visa would give you 60 days, but extendable for a further 30 at a local immigration office. If eligible you can come visa exempt and you’d get 30 days, which is also extendable for a further 30 days.
I'm below 50 lol. And if I wanted to stay even after I used my extension? Can I keep extending ... or switch to a different visa? Such as education visa for muay thai?

Do you know if I can apply while on a tourist visa or tourist visa extension period?
there’s not so many options for being under 50. You can opt for a volunteer visa (if you can find a organisation to do so with) or a educational visa with a Thai language school or Muay Thai.
