Hi all! Question about ED visa. If my husband and I are able to get one for studying Thai in Phuket, what visa does my 7 mo old baby need to get or does he need anything at all? Also, any recommendations of schools in Northern Phuket close to Bang Tao or Surin? THANKS :)

TLDR : Answer Summary
When obtaining an ED visa for studying Thai in Phuket, your 7-month-old baby may require a Non Immigrant O visa based on being a dependent. However, it is noted that children under the age of 15 will not incur fines for overstaying, which offers flexibility regarding any visa requirements.

Although there is no fine or ban for children, their passport will get an overstay stamp.

makes sense. Can I ask if you are on an ED visa?

I did because my son will most likely be living in Thailand and going to school here for a long time. I didn't want his passport full of overstay stamps and it was easy enough to just include him as my dependent

Do you recommend still paying then?

Your baby can get a Non Immigrant O visa based on dependent. But children till 15 years of age will not get fined for overstay. It is not the legal way, but without fines it saves a lot of money.

! To clarify, does this mean that only my husband and I would have to pay for the extension every 90 days and we could get away for not paying for our child?
