Hello all, I came in on a tourist visa In Feb. I need to extend on the 16th, however the offices are closed from the 12th or 13th and 16th is a Saturday. Iโm in Koh Tao. I have my flight out to go back home on th 16th of May so if I extend before the 12th for 30 days it would be too early. Or can I explain my situation? Iโm also due to go to Phuket on the 18th as I have a course booked for 5 days.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on how to extend their tourist visa amidst office closures and impending travel plans. Commenters suggest that extending the visa early is safe as any added days will extend the current stay rather than start a new count from the date of extension. They advise to be proactive in seeking the extension due to potential uncertainty with immigration offices.
I was in a similar situation. A couple of trips to the Pattaya Immigration. The last one they told me to come back the day before the holiday. If I waited until that day, and they told me to come back, again, I would have been screwed.
I recommend getting your extension sooner than later just to be on the safe side.
Lot depends on the Immigration Office you use.

You can extend on the 18 with no overstay penalty because the 16 is on a Saturday, but as Stuart said the 30 days is added to the end of your Visa so 16th of April + 30 days, regardless of which day you go extending.

You can only go on the 7th, 8th, 11th and 12th because tomorrow, 13th-14th-15th) are holidays.
yea thank you, I cant go on the 18th because I leave on the 17th to Phuket and wonโt be able to go there as Iโm doing a course and coming back to Koh Tao on the 23rd.
Good to know that I can go sooner. Will go next week ๐๐๐๐ผ

Extend now. They add the days on to your existing stamp so thereโs no downside to doing it early.
