Got into trouble with 1 year extension of Non-immigrant ED (me) & O (wife&children) because we didn’t have the original of Beth & marriage certificate (& which we didn’t need to get the original visa!); might not get them in time before the visa expires next Tuesday. Any advice?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is facing challenges with the extension of their Non-immigrant ED visa and their family's O visas due to the absence of original documents, specifically the marriage certificate and Beth's document, which were originally not required for obtaining the initial visa. With the expiration date approaching next Tuesday, they seek advice on what actions to take in this situation.
if the immigration want copies of your passport, you can't just hand them the copies and bingo! They will want to see your passport in order to verify the copy is correct

obviously this means they want copies of each for their keeping, but the copies must be verified by also showing the originals . . . . . it is confusing yet it is "thai logic"

ORIGINAL POSTER
That’s why I didn’t bring the originals to Thailand.
they may have assumed that the originals were already in thai. I tried to get an extension with my original marriage certificate in English and was refused. The documents are supposed to be in thai according to my local immigration office. If thats the case, youre outta luck

ORIGINAL POSTER
Nope. And the immigration office in Chaeng Wattana didn’t ask for that either, just the originals
