TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses quotes received for a 30-day visa extension in Thailand, ranging from 4,500 to 5,500 baht through agents, while many commenters agree that handling the process directly at the immigration office costs only 1,900 baht. Users emphasize the simplicity of applying for the extension without an agent, advising others to go to immigration directly for savings and efficiency. However, some acknowledge the convenience of using agents, especially for those with mobility issues or a desire to avoid long waits. Overall, the consensus leans toward doing it yourself to save money.

5000 baht is about the going rate but you may have problems next time you enter Thailand. I got stopped and questioned, they knew I had used an agent by the extension stamp. It’s

a day out of your life and 1900 baht to do yourself. As they say, up to youuuuuuuu 🇹🇭
THAI ******************************
Our service fees may seem high, and we understand. If you have the time and are comfortable handling the process yourself, we recommend doing so to save money.
However, for those who prefer to avoid the hassle of visiting immigration, our team can handle everything for you. We will take care of the extension, collect your documents, and return them to you for a fee.
This service is ideal for those with limited time, difficulty traveling, or who find the process stressful, especially in busy environments without speaking Thai.

In pattaya it seems to be around ฿4000, for a 30 day extension, just message a few agents on Facebook and get quotes, saves the leg work.

Price will be determined by you having or not having a TM30

Duh, why sustain corruption when you can just do your 30days tourist extension online and go collect your stamp at immigration when processed? Way cheaper.
One major difference is that our extension services in bangkok are door-to-door.
Meaning we come to your residence, collect your documents, and go on your behalf. When completed we drop your documents back off to you saving you time, and a trip.
If you have time then we always suggest going on your own as the extension should be easy, and you can make an appointment for free through the official website.
looks like you're not the brightest in this group or just a troll. Of course you need to collect your extension stamp. It's the official way for handling those extensions online. I wouldn't call it an agent.
VFS is an outsourcing agent for the Thai government. They charge for their service of obtaining a extension of stay, or you can just go to immigration and do it yourself. If you're happy to pay 500 baht for absolutely nothing, go for it! 😂
Call it agent if you like but you know very well that there's a difference between this legitimate service outsourced by the government and agents who's job is to bribe officials.
It's not for nothing, no need to get up early to be first in line or queue at immigration, you pick up your stamp within 10min at their special counter. Much better value imho than 2-3000b fee for an agent.
It's a pretty reasonable priced service between doing it yourself (which we agree is easy but depending on the day and time can take up to several hours if unlucky) and paying an agent 2-3000b fees for often not much or anything more.
VFS is an agent. I never said they were dodgy, nor did I imply that. You're obviously not aware that you can make an appointment through the normal immigration office, pay the 1900 baht, and be out in twenty minutes.
Fair point mentioning the online appointment for immigration. Forgot about it since it's not available where I'm at now and before in BKK you had to make appointment a few weeks before to get one.

That would be about the price. I dont know why people chime in if they arent going to answer the mans question!?! Most of the answers are NOT what he asked.

Yes , normal. I pay also everytime 4000 to my agent. Can also do alone , but don t want long waiting time , paper stress , etc
Some people have more money than sense. It’s a 10 minute job to do it yourself at Bluport and costs 1900 baht. Go around 3pm. No standing around, they provide seats for you to sit on!

The funniest word in the OP is “respectively”, 555. Charging someone 200-300% just to fill out a form an 8th grader could do is a tragic laugh.

Are you real? 30 day extension cost you money? That's just stupid.
yes I am real. My personal reasons are that I've just had a k
New knee replacement and cannot stand or walk to far so I'm trying to make my life easier even if I have to pay for that privilege

I did mine myself was not that painful. Just took a day. And it was a lot cheaper than that. 1900 baht. you might have to take two trips to the office to get the right forms, which is what I had to do. I would go a few days early get your forms. You’ll have to have wherever you’re staying and renting the owner will need to fill out a document. If they are an Airbnb or hotel, they’ll be very familiar with how to do it. In fact, the place I was staying was so familiar they didn’t even really need the form. They downloaded it and sent it in for me. I just took a copy. FYI, not all offices for immigration are created equal. If you are in a touristy area, it will take more time than five minutes.

Do it on your own

Alan, is there a reason you think you'll be refused? Have you been a naughty boy?
I just had a new knee replacement and did not want to be standing in long ques that's all I don't mind paying but I thought 4500 and 5500 were a rip off
THAI ******************************
Yes this type of service is considered a VIP service since you do not need to leave your residence.
Another option would be to make an online appointment, and try to do it as fast as possible to reduce stress on your knee.
Hi Alan, you can apply for extension online in case of Tourism (which I assume is your case) 1900+500thb fee.

If you missed to upload a document they I'll request it from you. When processed you have to go pick it up at immigration.

Do it yourself. Get the paperwork sorted and go within 7 days of your stamp ending, and go first thing in the morning (8am) 1900฿

I used a great agent who deals with everything and she charged 3900 and that included the 1900 fee to immigration. We were in and out in 5 minutes - she’s mates with the big boss. DM me if you want her deets 👍
she dealt with all the photographs, filled in the forms and enabled us to jump the queue and not sit in that from room for ages. Worth every penny - not for everyone, I get it if it’s not in some people’s budget but for me it was a bargain
budget is not the point, it fuels corruption, and creates problems down the line, for example the DLT in Phuket now has a 3 month waiting list for an appointment, because they realized during Covid they could push everyone towards agents and get kickbacks - now we have to drive to Phang Nga to get license renewed same day or pay for an agent to jump rhe queue

You need to read up, seriously. It's a basic thing
3500 is exactly what I paid for a border run to Cambodia. That covered the round trip in a nice van, the Cambodian visa, a decent lunch, and a 60 day extension. I did my 30 day extension for 1900 at Rayong Immigration. No stress. No standing in line, just 15 minutes sitting. Just for your information. 👍
