Has anyone had experience of renewing the tax for a car over 6 years old? Car is in my wife's name, she can't do it. What documents do I need to bring? I heard a youtuber say to bring a work permit and passport but are those really necessary ? Thanks. Por Ro Bor needs renewing too.

TLDR : Answer Summary
To renew the tax for a car over 6 years old in Thailand, you primarily need the blue book (vehicle registration document) and may also want to bring the Por Ro Bor. The need for additional documents like a work permit or passport is generally unnecessary, as many users report that ID was never requested during their tax renewal process. It's advisable to take the car to a local testing station where they can handle everything, including tax and insurance. Ensure your vehicle has undergone the necessary inspections, especially if it is over 7 years old, as an inspection letter may be required.
May seem like an odd question but is there a form I need to bring to the inspection place or do I just rock up in my car to the inspection place and they will fill out of a form for me?
if your putting car in your name you need passport, residance certificate, I think off top of my head ytou fill a form in the office, it's quite simple process just long winded like all of it here

Just go to a local testing station with your blue book and they will do everything including tax and insurance and pick up your stamped blue book the following day.
My car is 14 years old and I did it all seamlessly back in August.
