What documents do I need to apply for a Digital Nomad visa in Thailand while working as a freelancer with an offshore company in Hong Kong?

[DTV Hanoi Hong Kong company?]

I am a digital nomad planning to visit Vietnam for 2–3 months in April. I intend to apply for a Digital Nomad (DTV) visa for thailand from there. As I work fully online, my primary purpose is a workation. However, I am a bit confused about the required documents.

I am both a business owner and a freelancer. I own a one-person offshore company in Hong Kong, where I serve as the director. All invoices are issued through the company, and I usually take profits as dividends once or twice a year. Because of this setup, I do not have an employment contract or an employment certificate (that would be taxed in HK - dividends are not)

I could potentially provide client reviews and prepare a portfolio showcasing my work (I have completed over 200 jobs on Upwork). I could also include links to client websites, but I typically do not have formal contracts, as most of my work is conducted through Upwork/informal relations since few years + contracts would be on company not me anyway.

Could you advise on the list of documents I would need in my specific situation? I plan to apply for the visa while in Vietnam (Hanoi, specifically, as that’s where the embassy is). I shoot the embassy too - but I wonder is somebody in a similar situation dealt with it already.

PS once I will get anwser from them I will post it here :)

TLDR : Answer Summary
A digital nomad seeks advice on the necessary documents for applying for a Digital Nomad visa for Thailand from Vietnam. They are both a freelancer and a business owner with an offshore company in Hong Kong, lacking a formal employment contract. The conversation includes suggestions from other users on creating an employment contract, providing personal bank account details, and submitting proof of freelance work such as Upwork client reviews and account data.

My husband is also Upwork freelance. He applied with Upwork earning certificate, picture of his profile and client reviews, tax return, 6 months saving account ( only the last 2 months were over 500k bath).

As noted above, create an employment contract and certificate. You can write a brief cover letter stating your reason to work remotely in Thailand to explore the culture, beauty, cuisine, blah blah. Transfer fund requirement to your personal bank account so its sitting there at least 3 months. You can provide screenshots of your Upwork data to show you're not some fly by nighter.

Write a letter as company director authorizing yourself to work abroad. And have the required funds in a personal bank account.
