Dentist in BKK or Pattaya. Since Im gonna need receding gums sorting out in a year or two, might be worth using this to get a DTV. Can anyone please recommend a good dentist that they have used to get this grim work undertaken? My dentist in the UK reckons its a no-fun series of treatments. Im back in the Kingdom very soon so can drop in for a review at a suitable dentists and get the related paperwork for a DTV application. Thanks.

So under the Thai soft power option you can use a medical appointment to get a 5 year stay on a DTV. Seems strange that they would grant you a 5 year visa for a limited time medical appointment. I was only aware of the Thai boxing option under that section.

I've read about cases where 1 medical appointment have been enough, but I think most embassies/consulates ask for a treatment plan/follow up appointments.

yep, since Im looking at several appointments over a prolonged time, a DTV may be handy. Doesn’t make it any less painful!

Workcation (remote work, freelancing etc) is one way to go... The other is "Softpower" such as Muay Thai training, Thai cooking classes, Medical treatment, events related to culture etc.

Bangkok Pattaya hospital dental department is good, also German dental on Thappraya road, they have lots of good reports from expats.

Had a very good experience with Thonglor Dental Hospital in Bangkok. Two root canals followed by two crowns a week later. Efficient and capable service, mostly pain free (fitting crowns is always unpleasant), great result.

I use Bumrungrad for my dental work. Had a cleaning a few days ago and will have a root canal next month. I saw that someone has used Bumrungrad (not sure for what health issue though) for DTV

What are the chances of getting a DTV with dental work in Thailand ? I just got two teeth extracted and my dentist here tells me next move is to do bone graft then implants which takes 1-2 years. So I have legit reason.

I don’t think they look to hard concerning medical issues. I am going to do it with my annual physical at BKK hospital. Remember, you can get a DTV for a basket weaving class.

ok. I guess the embassy would requires genuine paperwork from the hospital confirming your appointment. Is the hospital willing to write such letter? . I was watching on YT a channel by a Canuck expat (working for you or something) who spent almost $1,000 for a medical check at the hospital But they did check him head to toe !

yes. They will send the letter. My insurance covers the physical 100 percent. So it is free to me. Also, both my wife and I had one last year.

I'm doing an implant.

Extraction with graft was in June. Then implant in Oct. Crown in Feb.

They dont suggest waiting more than 3-6 months after extraction and the implant.
