Currently in Vientiane, Laos for a 3 months Non-Imm O Visa (based on raising my Thai son), booked my appointment a month ago obtaining que #5, arrived at the Embassy at 8:30am to a line of about 25 people, when the main gate 'eventually' opened at 9:08am the que had grown to about 50+. I was sent to 'window 3' where I was greeted by the apparently notorious "Visa denied bitch", who upon inspecting my paperwork asked if I had a Thai bank account, I told her 'Yes, that's where I transfer my monthly income from England to", she then told me I need a photocopy of my bank book, I categorically told her "In the last FOUR+ years of obtaining this visa I have never been asked for my bank detail BECAUSE this Visa doesn't require it", not only that but I didn't have my bank book with me anyhow. She accepted my 'explanation' and took my application without further problems. Walked out the main gate at 9:30am & headed back to my hotel a 30 minute walk away. By asking me for my bank details for a Visa that doesn't require it, either SHE doesn't know her job properly or she's 'testing' ME to see if I know what paperwork I need. Oh well, I'll find out tomorrow if I've been denied or not ;-)
