Hey, my friends and I have been on a Covid visa extension and we have to leave the country. We are Irish and hope to come back on a visa exemption by either going to Cambodia or Bali. Is there a certain amount of time we have to stay for or does anyone have any information on this? Thank you ๐

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on the process of leaving Thailand after being on a Covid visa extension and returning on a visa exemption by traveling through Cambodia or Bali. Important considerations include obtaining a single entry tourist visa from the Thai consulate, having proof of sufficient funds, proof of onward travel, and proof of accommodation. Concerns are raised about potential scrutiny at passport control upon re-entering Thailand after an extended stay.
I let this post on and wanted to write that answer but now I'm closing this thread because NONE of the questions they wanted to ask were thai VISA questions ๐

It's not leaving that's gonna cause you the problem it's comin' back in after being on covid extensions that gonna get you raked over the coals at passport control coming back in
What ever you're gonna do GET a single entry tourist visa from the thai consulate in the country you're going to
When you come back to thailand IF you can fly in to Phuket DIRECT, do it
When you are going to stamp IN to thailand make sure you have the 3-proofz;
Proof of 20K baht or the equivalent in CASH
Proof of onward travel within the number of days you're going to be stamped in for back to your country
Proof of lodging as in where you're staying after you get out of test&go hotel.
You will get questioned, doesn't matter if you're out of thailand a week or a month, it's how long you were previously here on covid extensions that's gonna cause the problem
People are going to Cambodia and getting a single entry tourist visa there at the thai consulate in Phnom Penh. OR they're going to Singapore and using the thai consulate there.
