Hi all, I'm planning to soon go for my first non o marriage extension at Jomtien immigration. It seems a complex process with a lot of documents.

Think I've got everything but wondering about house requirements, We have a copy of tabian baan for my wife, she is registered at the family home in another province. This seems the requirement listed on official sites.

Seen someone say they will need a copy of the house book for where we live too? (contact landlord?) another post i have seen saying they needed copies of rental agreement and landlords ID signed by landlord?

Anyway any advice about this appreciated. If anyone has done this extension recently and has tips or info please let me know thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The process for obtaining a Non-O marriage extension in Thailand can be complex, particularly regarding document requirements. It's essential to have a copy of your wife's tabian baan (house registration) but also check if you need a copy of the house book where you live or a rental agreement along with your landlord's ID. It's advisable to visit Jomtien immigration ahead of your application to receive specific requirements for that office and clarify any doubts.

Take Todd's advice and go to Jomtien IO and at least a week before you submit your application. They should supply you with handouts , both in English & Thai of what the requirements are for their particular office. If not, will have the list of requirements advertised somewhere on the walls of their office, so you can take photos. Every IO in Thailand has it's own variations of the rules for extension applications. As it's your first extension, be best if you and your wife go to Jomtien IO together, as you may both want you to also ask questions at their information desk.

The wife's house book is just the listing of where she's registered and most people are registered at the house book where they were born (in another province) so that's no issue

The proof of you having had a TM30 filed on the address where you live, the lease, the land lord i/d, copy of the house book where you rent are all pretty standard requirements at most offices

This is a list of the general requirements of what you can be asked to supply. It is not office specific though

You and your thai wife should go to the Jomtien immigration office well before you need the extension and get the hand out for that office because that way you know what you really need document wise
