Update on reporting requirements for tourist visa holders.  Note this may be Chiang Mai only.

Friend arrived Tuesday and is staying with us.  She dutifully trotted out to immigration on Wednesday to report her arrival.  No...just landing and getting passport stamped at airport does not count.  

They asked where she was staying and when they found out it was with me told her to come back Thursday with me and my passport and TM 30.  They then gave her a TM 30.  Obviously since I don't have computer link to report people staying with me they wanted proof?  

She is on a 60 day visa.  Don't know if rules are different for other types of Visas.  One thing that is the same is reporting within 24 hours of landing in country is required.
