Hey all, I entered Thailand on July 12th on a tourist exempt 30 days with a US passport. My friend with both US and UK passports and my friend with an Icelandic passport will both arrive august 8. Our plan was to stay until sept or oct. Ideally, we would all have gotten 6mo multi entry visas, but the only one who will be anywhere near his home country is the Icelander (do they even have a Thai consulate?). What would be our ideal course of action for to actually stay til October?  

My assumption was that we would each get 30-day extensions and border bounce, but 1. Would we get denied reentry, 2. Does Iceland actually get 30+30, 3. If we can get enough reentry til October does to need to be by air? Or, instead of boarder bouncing, should we go to a neighboring consulate and actually buy a visa?  

It's only til October (maybe November) - 3-4 months for me, 2-3 for them....  so we should really only need one bounce, right? Totally fine so long as I leave no later than November 13ish?  Or is there more we need to do?

Ok, two-three months for them, so they can simply get a SETV (single entry tourist visa) which is good for 60 days on entry and can be extended with another 30 days for 1900 baht. In your case, when your leave to remain stamp is due get a SETV in Vientiane. Alternatively you can try to extend your current entry with 30 days for 1900 baht, that will get you until September 10 or so, then visa run which would get you up to November 8 or thereabouts. (including another 1900 baht extension). Be aware of the limit of two overland entries per calendar year.
