TLDR : Answer Summary
The user recently corrected an initial mistake in their visa application by successfully applying for the Special Tourist Visa (STV) for Thailand, which allows a stay of up to 9 months through renewals. The conversation includes questions about the differences between the Tourist Visa and STV, indicating that the STV is a better option for longer stays.
one reminder about STV. Once you used up all 270 days stay for STV, you cannot change to other type of visa in Thailand. Mean you need to leave Thailand. For tourist visa, after you used all visa and extension allowable days, you can change to other type of visa, eg non o marriage, retirement visa extension.
Initially I accidentally applied for tourist visa and was issued a 60day visa, I reapplied for the special tourist visa which is 90days but can be extended twice at immigration, so its upto 270 days.
