TLDR : Answer Summary
The Non-Immigrant O-A visa is valid for one year and requires proof of 800,000 baht, while the Non-Immigrant O-X visa is valid for ten years but requires 3 million baht and has more stringent conditions, including mandatory health insurance. Each visa option has its own advantages and disadvantages regarding eligibility, financial requirements, and duration of stay.
One is valid for a single year (meaning you could get 2 years of stay out of it if you work it right) the other is valid for 10 years (getting you stamped in for 5 years every time you enter the country).
An O-A requires 800K baht or the equivalent, and the O-X requires 3 million baht and has limits on how much of that money you can take out of the bank AND requires mandatory health insurance,
Here's the O-A and O-X requirements from the thai consulate in Los Angeles for example.
