Sorry I must have missed something _ I booked my sandbox hotel in bkk three weeks ago now I'm told the sandbox is canceled and nobody nobody including the hotel told me about the qr forms etc that were required and now apparently you can t submit them and therefore enter the country????

Each displayed all the relevant badges and certificates and multiple websites had links to lists of Bangkok sandbox hotels. There may not have been a bangkok sandbox but a very convincing bangkok sandbox program was sold to many people on very legitimate sites. I had no reason to doubt mine until just a couple of days ago.

Moral here: Thai Pass is a complete failure causing too much confusion and alienating would-be tourists from wanting to come here! Added to that, Knee-Jerking and flip-flopping only serves to destroy any remaining trust the public had. And this Micky Mouse govt. just doesn’t get it…..!

Actually, I found the Thai pass to be fairly straight forward. You just need to have your insurance hotel, and PCR testing sorted before starting.

I mean silly me for not seeking govt issued approval but even now you can Google "Bangkok Sandbox" and you'll get pages of what look like perfectly legitimate results and hotels offering the program. It's easy to get duped, it looked to me at the time that there was a Bangkok Sandbox.

 I have a picture of his Thai pass but they don’t specify between phuket/samui/Bangkok sandbox. They have also eliminated the red/green country lists.

 this was back in December before they suspended everything, the packages were good, the sites I gave are known to be in good standing and completely reputable.

Bangkok had a sandbox option for people who couldn’t apply for the test and go.

, Bangkok was never a part of the Sandbox program. The fact that these (3rd party) sites are calling it sandbox is misleading, because all you were doing is either test and go, or 7 day quarantine. Only Phuket, Phi Phi, and Samui area (and maybe Krabi??) ever had a Sandbox plan.

So, you either booked 6 days under test and go program, in which case, the hotel arranged your testing. OR the hotel was under the impression you were a domestic traveller?

There is test and go. You stay 1 night in the hotel until you get your negative test. Then you are free to go.

Why would anybody choose having to stay 7 days in the same hotel and not leave the area? You have to be fully vaxxed for same programs.

That's why Sandbox in Phuket. After negative result you are free to move 7 days in the area. Then you can go anywhere.

He’s free to leave his hotel during the day but has to return every night and can’t travel elsewhere - sandbox

 I provided sources saying this was in fact the case, there were 5-7 day sandbox packages for Bangkok that were being sold the same time as the test and go. I have a friend right now in a 5 day sandbox package in Bangkok who has been roaming the city but must return to his hotel at night.

I gave several links from reputable sources and have personal experience, all you and your buddy can do is say no 🤷‍♂️

They just honored my friends 5 day sandbox in Bangkok and he arrived on the 15

If you are approved for an entry method but the hotel cancels on you I think if you contact the Thai pass people you can amend your hotel

Ok, Sorry, my confusion has been sorted as well, what your referring to as Sandbox i knew as Blue zone from back in November, which obviously Jared,s mate,s hotel has honored, the Blue zone/Sandbox is no longer available its only QA but same as test and go one would think the hotels should be honoring it.

 it happened with some test and go hotels that when the program was cancelled they cancelled some of the bookings, so you would need to find somewhere that is still hosting this program. I could DM you the name of his hotel if you want to send an inquiry

 No idea about the cancellation of Sandbox. Your post is only time I heard it mentioned. The Ministry of Health is proposing Test & Go is reinstated at meeting tomorrow. If I was planning on coming I would wait for that outcome.
