TLDR : Answer Summary
Travelers from the UK looking to fly into Thailand are advised to consider direct flights to either Phuket or Bangkok, as these are currently the only direct points of entry. It is important to prepare all necessary documents and comply with the Thailand Pass registration requirements. Vaccination status plays a crucial role in quarantine regulations; fully vaccinated travelers generally face fewer entry restrictions than those who are unvaccinated, who must quarantine regardless of their arrival city. For first-time travelers, Phuket may offer an easier entry process. Stay updated by checking local resources for the latest travel and quarantine information.
Anyone know how long it takes to receive confirmation of a successful online 90-day report? I did it this morning at 10 a.m. but while I got a green box with โsuccessโ on the website and a follow up email saying my application had been received, I havenโtโ gotten back any official confirmation or approval nor the usual downloadable paper with the next 90-day date for reporting. TIA.

You can only fly into BKK or Phuket direct from the UK.
I've never used a travel agent book it all yourself its straight forward to do. There is no restriction flying to Bangkok.

Your local RTE website will have the latest information..

Fly direct into Phuket. Easier to stay in first hotel for six days if that works for you. Minimises all the paperwork etc. Thai weekend flights are direct
thanks Paul, less paperwork sounds good! Iโll have a look at weekend flights. Thank you ๐

You question is too broad and vague. But a few things...
The only places you can enter Thailand are Phuket and Bangkok. You can transfer to Koh Samui via BKK, but that is only on on or 2 flights a day with (I believe) Bangkok Air.
If you are not fully vaccinated, then you will have to quarantine, no matter which port of entry you fly into. I am not sure of the current lengths though.
Have you been to Thailand before? If not, Phuket might be the easier place to enter, as your first test is at the airport. Just an opinion though.
And no matter what, you will of course have to register on Thailand Pass.
I want to go to one of the islands with a year multi entry visa. Iโve completed the visa application now and next step will be booking flights and the quarantine (sandbox ๐ค) which it would be great to have help with. Thanks
probably the easiest would be to do test & go, book your day 1 SHA Extra Plus hotel in Bangkok, and then your day 5 hotel where your destination is.
This means you'll get off the plane in Bangkok, go to the hotel and get tested, then once you test negative you'll be let out and can continue to the island.
The reason this is easier is because you only need to purchase a flight to Bangkok and have many options for that.
There are some sealed routes you can do for Sandbox like Koh Samui for example, but you have to buy that all on one ticket to enter Thailand, and there are limited daily sealed route flights so your transit in BKK could end up being 12+ hours.
thank you thatโs really helpful. I have been told that I canโt fly into Bangkok from the UK at the moment, but will check this again as that sounds very straightforward. Thank you ๐
sorry my phone slipped ... perhaps itโs just different agencies having different pathways into Thailand and I just need to keep looking. Thanks again.
Iโve been told this by two travel agents in the UK. I think I looked at British Airways flights too .. great that this isnโt blocked, perhaps itโs just
book the flight yourself, absolutely no need to use an agent. BA aren't flying to Thailand at all but plenty of airlines are with a connection en route, eg Emirates, Qatar, Singapore etc
good idea ... although thought it was actually cheaper to go through agents, but maybe it depends on which airways you fly with. Thanks for your help ๐
it might be cheaper but if you need to change anything or your flight gets cancelled then you effectively lose all control and have to rely on the agent to make changes, get your refund etc.
I used Royal Vacation recently to come back. Sorted everything and got the Thai pass a bit late but i think it was because the system was under pressure on Feb 1st.
to be honest with you admins have had lots of messages and posts from people who have dealt with the 3 major agencies who are late dealing with Thai pass, cannot mention names as libel laws here are strict and not just feb 1st.
