Went to immigration today to apply for my extension due to covid. I was extended 60 days. What surprised me though was that the officer told me I’d be able to get another 60 days extension if so come back on January 19th. She said that extension would start from the 28th of February.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses a visa extension obtained due to COVID-19, mentioning a 60-day extension secured at an immigration office with the possibility of another 60-day extension in January. The conversation highlights confusion around the application date for the second extension and the need for an Embassy letter, as well as clarifying that the last day to apply for any COVID-related extensions is January 29, 2021.

Did you need the Embassy letter for the COVID extension...as you were asked for it on your December 16th visit ?
You state the January 19th date to apply for one added extension.
Is that the correct date or is it January 29th ?? As Jan 29 has been announced as the last day to apply for COVID extensions.

Yes Chiang mai. I had the letter, not sure if it was necessary. I think it depends on the officer. It could have been the 29th. To be honest her English was a little difficult to understand
